16 Days in the Saddle

Hiland WY to Where are we in WY?  103.57 miles today,   Some things we did not stop to see along the way where Hell's Half Acre, and we rode along the Sand Creek Massacre Trail,  Boothe boys look that up and let me know the history.   STRONG, STRONG, head wind today, everyone is a little beat up.  Ended the day with a storm and sleeping  at Road Side rest stop.  Janice and Paul are sleeping in the truck everyone else in the RV.  We all have bets on the time that the law will roll in tonight and ask us to leave.

  2. I want this picture for my house. IT is striking!!! After riding that many miles, sleeping in a truck seems harsh to me!!! I am thinking, WOW, you guys are tough!!! The Sand Creek massacre (also known as the Chivington massacre, the Battle of Sand Creek or the Massacre of Cheyenne Indians) was an incident in the Indian Wars of the United States that occurred on November 29, 1864, when a 700-man force of Colorado Territory militia attacked and destroyed a village of friendly Cheyenne and Arapaho encamped in southeastern Colorado Territory, killing and mutilating an estimated 70–163 Indians, about two-thirds of whom were women and children. The location has been designated a National Historic Site and is administered by the National Park Service.
